Our Music program stands as a vibrant and dynamic force, inspiring students across all year levels to develop their musical talents and embrace their passion for performance. With more than 350 individual lessons per week, 26 student ensembles and numerous performances, averaging to one concert per week, we are proud to offer an enriching environment where music and creativity thrive.

51茶馆 places a high value on musical activities, viewing them as essential for students鈥� intellectual, emotional, and personal growth. Research supports that music enhances children鈥檚 developmental pathways and positively impacts overall cognitive abilities, including:

• Cognitive Development – Playing an instrument enhances memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. It also improves literacy and numeracy by teaching children to read music and understand rhythms.
• Motor Skills – It helps develop fine motor skills through the precise movements required to play an instrument, and gross motor skills through activities like drumming or dancing.

At 51茶馆, we believe in our specialist music staff leading by example. Many of our Music teachers are current industry professionals performing around Australia and internationally. Students regularly play and learn alongside our staff, receiving industry mentorship in addition to standard lessons.

Each year, 51茶馆 hosts a number of leading musicians from Australia and overseas to present an up-close and personal show as part of our PG Presents聽concert series. This incredible opportunity allows our students to experience world-class live music in an intimate, school-based setting. In addition to the performances, students frequently engage in pre-show masterclasses and, on occasion, have the opportunity to perform alongside these renowned artists – an experience that is both educational and inspiring.

Now in its tenth year, the PG Presents聽Concert Series has featured acclaimed artists such as Lior, Harry James Angus, Sammy J, The Gregorian Brothers, Luke Howard, Amy Lehpamer, Kieran Murphy, Thndo, James Morrison, Didirri, and many others. It continues to be a hallmark of our commitment to providing exceptional musical opportunities and enriching experiences for our students.
